This Anti-Money Laundering & Know Your Customer Policy ("AML & KYC Policy") describes the measures adopted by Weserv Techno Innovative Pvt Ltd ("Company", "we", "us", "our"), operator of bigpaybharat.com ("Platform", "BigPayBharat"), to prevent the Platform from being used, knowingly or unknowingly, for money laundering, terrorist financing, or other unlawful financial activity.
This Policy applies to all Users of the Platform, including Retailers, Distributors, and Master Distributors, and should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
We are committed to complying with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 ("PMLA"), rules framed thereunder, and applicable RBI Master Directions on Know Your Customer, as well as guidelines issued by NPCI and our banking partners.
The objective of this Policy is to establish a framework for customer identification, risk assessment, ongoing monitoring, and reporting so as to detect and deter money laundering and terrorist financing through the Platform. This Policy is framed with reference to, among others:
We onboard Users only after collecting and verifying identity and address information as required under applicable KYC norms. We do not open or maintain Wallets or accounts in anonymous or fictitious names, and we exercise additional caution in accepting Users from jurisdictions or categories identified as higher-risk under applicable regulatory guidance.
We reserve the right to decline or discontinue onboarding of any User where the required KYC information or documentation is incomplete, inconsistent, or could not be verified.
Before activating certain Services, we verify a User's identity using officially valid documents ("OVDs") and, where applicable, electronic or Aadhaar-based verification methods permitted under RBI guidelines. Identification is carried out at the time of onboarding and may be repeated periodically, or whenever there is a material change in the User's profile, risk category, or as required for a specific transaction.
| Purpose | Typical Documents |
|---|---|
| Identity Proof | Aadhaar, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving Licence |
| Address Proof | Aadhaar, utility bill, passport, or other OVD reflecting current address |
| Business/Retailer Onboarding | GST registration (where applicable), shop/establishment proof, bank account details |
| Bank Account Verification | Cancelled cheque, bank passbook, or penny-drop verification |
| Photograph | Recent passport-size photograph or live selfie/facial verification, where applicable |
We may request additional documents or information at any time as necessary to comply with applicable regulatory requirements or to complete a risk assessment.
Users are categorised as low, medium, or high risk based on factors such as the nature and value of transactions, geographic location, source of funds (where relevant), and any other criteria prescribed under applicable RBI/FIU-IND guidance. Higher-risk Users are subject to enhanced due diligence and more frequent monitoring and review.
We monitor transactions on the Platform on an ongoing basis to identify patterns that may be unusual, inconsistent with a User's known profile, or indicative of potential money laundering or fraud, including unusually large or frequent transactions, rapid movement of funds, and transactions inconsistent with a Retailer's stated business activity. Suspicious transactions or accounts may be flagged for further review, and the relevant Wallet or account may be temporarily restricted pending investigation.
Where required under applicable law, we (directly or through our banking/payment partners) report Cash Transaction Reports (CTRs), Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs), and other prescribed reports to the Financial Intelligence Unit – India (FIU-IND) or other competent authority. Users acknowledge that we may be required to disclose account and transaction information to law-enforcement or regulatory authorities as part of these obligations, and that such disclosures do not constitute a breach of our Privacy Policy.
We maintain records of customer identification, KYC documents, and transaction data for the minimum period prescribed under the PMLA, RBI Master Directions, and other applicable regulations, and make such records available to competent authorities upon lawful request.
Relevant employees are provided periodic training on AML/KYC obligations, identification of suspicious transactions, and applicable reporting procedures, so that the Policy is implemented consistently across the organisation.
